My name is Brett Harsh and I was born and raised in Monongahela Pennsylvania and I have been living in Wexford for over three years. I currently hold a Bachelor's degree in Fire and Safety Engineering from Eastern Kentucky University and my current carrer outside of the fire company is in the Sales & Marketing field. In my spare time, I enjoy playing ice hockey, golf and restoring my fire truck that I own.
I joined the fire service on August 1st, 1983 at the age of 16 as a junior member of the Monongahela Fire Department. During my college years, I volunteered with the New Eagle Volunteer Fire Department in PA when I was home on breaks and while on campus, I lived in the Richmond Kentucky Fire Station where I worked shifts and attended classes. I joined the Wexford Volunteer Fire Company on March 14th, 2004 and I am currently a firefighter and have served as 2nd Lieutenant, board member and vice president.
My current training certificates include; The Essentials of Firefighting, Firefighter I, Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations, Vehicle Rescue, Compressd Air Foam System (CAFS) Operations, Basic Rope Rescue, Structural Collapse Operations, Introduction to Fire Officership I, CPR and First Aid, Firefighter Safety and Survival and Arson Scene Preservation.
What I enjoy the most about being a volunteer firefighter is helping others in their time of need, the relationships and brotherhood of the fire service and serving the community where I reside.
