INCIDENT CATEGORY EXPLANATIONS:
  • Fire- Includes structural, vehicle, grass and every other type of incident involving fire.
  • Explosion- Includes explosions involving buildings as well as over pressure type explosions from household appliances such as a water heater.
  • Rescue- Includes vehicle accidents and other technical rescues, as well as EMS assists
  • Hazardous Condition- Includes controlling hazards as accident scenes, gas leaks, fuel spills and downed power lines.
  • Service Call- Includes flooded basements and other public assistance type calls as well as stand by assignments for other fire departments.
  • Good Intent- Includes smoke scares, cancelled assignments and situations where the caller had good intent but there was really nothing the fire company could do.
  • Alarms- Includes automatic fire alarms, CO alarms and other alarm situations where a fire or CO was not found to exist.
  • Severe Weather- Includes damage done by storms such as trees down on roadways, flooded roads, etc.
  • Special- Includes special details such as assisting the police department or setting up landing zones for medical helicopters.
