My name is Mark William Hetzel and I was born and raised in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania. I attended Robert Morris University for four years where I earned a Bachelor's of Science in Business Admininstration. Outside of the fire company, I am employed with the Sherwin Williams Company where I am an Operations Manager. I am currently not married and have no children as well.
I joined the fire service in June 1998 at the age of 18 and became a volunteer with Wexford in June of 1998. I am currently an active member with the department and hold the position of captain. I have also served as vice president and board member, and lieutenant. I am Nationally Certified as Fire Fighter I and hold the following certificates as well; PA DOH Vehicle Rescue Technician, Haz-Mat Operations, Structure Burn and Introduction to Fire Officership. I currently participate in the live-in program at our Station 2 where I live, run calls and help maintain the station and apparatus.
In my spare time I play ice hockey with some of our other brother firefighters and what I enjoy the most about being a volunteer firefighter is serving the community and enjoying friendship with the other members.
