The Wexford Volunteer Fire Company, with assistance from a group of Pine Richland High School students, is implementing a new "Special Circumstances Program" to help save lives and better serve our community. The students approached Fire Company officials with a concern of how emergency responders handle residences with special needs occupants. They thought it would be useful for firefighters to have some way to bring up information that can tell them that a home they are responding to has an occupant with autism or other limitation. Having this information will help firefighters be better prepared to handle the emergency situation when they arrive.
This program needs your input to work. We are asking that any Township of Pine families with members that would need special help during an emergency register with the Fire Company. When an emergency call comes in, the address can be typed into a special program on laptops carried on the fire trucks. If anyone at that address needs special assistance in case of an emergency, then the computer will advise our fire fighters.
In order for this program to be effective, the Fire Department needs your information. Please submit any special needs within your household (example: blind/deaf, autism, physically disabled, mentally challenged, etc.). Information can be provided by filling out and submitting the Special Circumstances Form below. If you are uncomfortable submitting online, click the downloadable form on this page and mail it to the fire company. Forms will also be available at the Township of Pine municipal building.
Paper forms should be mailed to the Wexford Volunteer Fire Company at 122 Wexford Bayne Road, Wexford, PA 15090.Please note all information will be kept strictly confidential and is only to be used in case of an emergency to assist your family.
