
2018 Year in Review
2018 was another record year with a total of 487 incidents. This was the highest total on record and an increase of 51 incidents from 2017’s total. A total of 56 members completed a total of 3894 of recorded man hours on incidents, training, company events and other activities in 2018. Countless other unrecorded hours were spent by members in various other activities and tasks necessary to make this organization work. As the new year starts out, members of the Wexford VFC are eager to serve the community.

Other Incident Statistics:
-In the fire category there were eight building fires in Pine. We are pleased to report that the fires were minor, and none were significant loss fires.
-There were three motor vehicle fires, one involving a paper shredding truck.
-In the rescue category there were 63 responses for motor vehicle crashes in Pine. 28 crashes involved injuries and one of those involved entrapment of vehicle occupants. 33 involved no injuries. Two crashes involved pedestrians.
-The hazardous conditions category included seven responses for a carbon monoxide condition in a structure, and 11 responses for natural gas leaks.
-There were 81 overlapping incidents where at least one additional call came in while the company was still operating at another incident.
-Average response time for all incidents in Pine was 8 minutes and 13 seconds.
-Total average time on scene was 35 minutes and 55 seconds.
-380 incidents occurred in Pine, and 107 were in surrounding communities including: Adams, Bradfordwoods, Franklin Park, Indiana, Mars, Marshall, McCandless, New Sewickley, Richland, Ross, Seven Fields and Valencia.
-60 calls occurred Mon-Fri between 12:00am and 8am; 159 calls occurred Mon-Fri between 8am and 4pm; 149 calls occurred Mon-Fri between 4pm and 12:00am; 21 calls occurred Sat-Sun between 12:00 am and 8:00 am; 52 calls occurred Sat-Sun between 8am-4pm; 46 calls occurred Sat-Sun between 4pm and 12:00 am.
-The busiest day of the week was Friday with 86 total calls occurring on Fridays.
-The busiest hour of the day was 8:00 am with 35 total calls occurring in that hour.
