Adams Township Garage Fire Assist
We were alerted at 1:44 am on December 1 for a working garage fire in Adams Township. The fire was reported to be threatening a nearby house. Engine 2, Chief, and Tanker responded to the fire. First due companies from Adams Area Fire District, and the Callery VFC found a challenging situation with a well involved garage fire that was starting to cause damage to a nearby house through radiant heat. There were no nearby fire hydrants. Initial companies worked off of tank water to keep the house from catching fire. Fire attack on the garage was started after a rural water supply operation was set up by a tanker shuttle. Our crews assisted with assessment of exposed house for fire extension, hose line/overhaul work on the garage, and the tanker shuttle operation. Crews were able to protect the house, another garage outbuilding, and several other exposures on the property. Our crews were back in service around 5:45am.
