April was a busy month with 42 calls. These responses included two structure fires in neighboring communities. A single family dwelling in Adams Township, and an apartment building in McCandless Township. Members were busy with behind the scenes activities as we put 27 new breathing apparatus packs in service. Each new pack features a thermal imaging camera that helps firefighters scene in smoke obscured areas with little to no visibility. A group of members also travels to Seagrave Fire Apparatus in Clintonville, Wisconsin for the final inspection of a new replacement fire engine, and mid-build inspection of a new tower ladder truck. The fire engine was delivered to the local Seagrave rep for tool placement, and should be in-service within the next couple months. The tower ladder truck should be finished at the factory by mid-June. These are exciting times at the Wexford VFC. Stay tuned for details!
