Community Event Schedule for the Remainder of 2018
We are pleased to announce the following Wexford Volunteer Fire Company sponsored community events for the remainder of 2018:
Saturday, September 29- Open House/Live Fire Demonstration 1p to 3p- We will open our main station on North Chapel Drive to community for some demonstrations and fun for kids. Kids will be able to participate in a “firefighter” obstacle course. Teens and adults will have a chance to try on gear and handle some tools and equipment. The main event will be a live fire demonstration using two mock rooms to demonstrate the speed at which fire develops. In one of the demonstrations, you will see how a fire sprinkler operates to quickly suppress a fire. If you’re interested in learning more about volunteering, or simply interested in learning about how fire protection is provided in your community, this is the event for you!
Saturday, October 27- Kids Halloween Party and Costume Contest 6:30pm-9:00pm- This growing tradition will again be held at our North Chapel station. Returning this year will be inflatable games, craft corner, refreshments, and the long running costume contest with roots back to the Lions Club Manor Road Halloween Parade and Costume Contest.
Saturday, December 15- Santa Express 11:00am until approximately 5:oopm- Santa has signed up for another year of visiting with the residents of Pine Township on the fire truck, with this tradition in its 28th year! Through the magic of Santa, we are able to divide the Township up into three or four zones, and bring him around to the neighborhoods to greet families at the curb. He brings a chocolate treat for kids and milk bone treats for any four legged friends that often accompany families to greet Santa. As the Township is growing by leaps and bounds each year, it is hard to provide a specific time, but we will publish the Santa Express routes as time gets closer to you can try gauge when we’ll arrive in your neighborhood.
