February proved to be a very active month for fire calls with 54. Approximately 14 calls occurred during a high wind event the weekend of February 23. Most of those calls involved trees down on roads and utility damage. Crews handled a vehicle fire on Graham Road on February 17 (pictured above). We received an updated delivery timeline from Seagrave Fire Apparatus for the new fire engine and aerial truck. The fire engine has tentative delivery date in May, and the aerial’s delivery date in July. These dates are several months ahead of the original projected schedule. The major components for the fire engine (engine, transmission, frame rails, etc.) have arrived at the factory, and the truck should start on the assembly line soon. Stay tuned for progress reports as both vehicles go through the assembly process.
