Husqvama ATV
Our ATV is equipped with a small mobile fire pump, 50-gallon water tank, and 5-gallon foam cell. It also carries a stokes basket for patient removal from remote areas. This unit was put into service in 2009. We don’t have many brush fires on open land like farm fields anymore. When brush fires occur, they are often in wooded areas that remain around housing developments. These areas are too far to reach with a pumper, and too tight to maneuver the brush truck around. This vehicle has proven to be valuable for these situations. Our procedure typically involves positioning the brush truck as close to the fire area as possible, and deploying the ATV into the woods. The ATV then comes back to the brush truck when it needs more water.
It has also proven its worth in assisting with removal of injured hunters, hikers, bikers, etc. from wooded areas. The ATV it also helpful for use at community events like Community Day and Holiday Dazzle.
