1989 Seagrave J-Cab Pumper
Engine 3 was purchased in 2014 from the Citizen’s Fire Company in Mount Holly Springs, Pa., and lightly refurbished. This engine replaced the 1999 International/Luverne engine that proved to be underpowered for the many hills that make up the roads around the Township of Pine. Engine 3 is used in a part primary/part reserve role for the fleet. It is used for responses from Station 3 when staffing is available, but when one of the other engines goes out for service, Engine 3 is rotated to fill in at the appropriate station.
It features a 1750 GPM pump and a 1000-gallon water tank. In addition to fire suppression equipment, Engine 3 carries some basic cribbing, an Amkus portable hydraulic pump, and a combination cutter/spreader tool for vehicle rescue. Engine 3 doesn’t see the number of responses that the other engines do, but it has become a pride piece for the company. While they enjoy the comforts of the modern engines, many members express excitement when Engine 3 is rotated to fill in for one of the other engines.
