November Recap
Our members were extremely busy with calls in November with a total of 73. 51 calls occurred between the afternoon of November 15 and the end of the day on November 17. The overwhelming majority of these calls were due to a severe winter weather event involving freezing rain. During that time period, crews also assisted with a commercial structure fire in New Sewickley Township. In reviewing our records from when they were first computerized in 2000, November 2018 was the busiest month on record by 16 calls. While it appeared that our total call volume for 2019 would surpass last year’s record of 431 calls, November’s activity created a big leap as we ended the month with 451 totals calls. December is not showing signs of letting up as we’ve already responded to 9 calls in the first three days. The leadership of the Wexford VFC is very thankful for the time and commitment of our members, as well as all of the area mutual aid companies that have provided assistance to us throughout the year.
