October Recap
October is always a busy time of year for the members of the Wexford Volunteer Fire Company with various events, education and other activities. We were active with 39 fire calls. The rain and high wind weather event on Halloween generated 8 weather related incidents from flooded basements, to trees down and flooded roads. We were also busy with fire prevention education and events with over 345 preschool aged children reached through school visits and station tours. Members spent the month of October taking a Basic Vehicle Rescue Operations class with members of the Marshall VFD and some other agencies. The class prepares students to certify as a Vehicle Rescue Technician through the PA Department of Health. On October 5, we along with multiple other public safety agencies were presented with donations from Guardian Protection Services.
