Community Outreach
October was an active month for community outreach activities. We hosted a fire safety open house at our main station on October 9. About 35 people came out to tour the station and learn about various fire safety topics.
Crews provided multiple school and station visits for Fire Prevention Month. With the Township of Pine Fire Marshal, preschool-aged children learned basic fire safety information and got to see all of the equipment firefighters wear as part of a program to help reduce fear the children might experience if meeting a firefighter in an emergency situation.
Finally, crews were on hand at Pine Township’s Trunk or Treat event on October 23. Squad 2 was decorated and firefighters passed out candy and Halloween craft activities to participating children. Our members had a great afternoon greeting the kids and seeing all of their awesome costumes.
