Training Focus on Ladders Continues

Training this month has focused on the ground ladders element of truck company operations. Last week, members ran through multiple evolutions of ladder carries and raises. Last night, members added climbing and working with tools from a ladder. They had a chance to clear out a simulated window from a ladder to practice for situations that require making entry to rescue a trapped victim, or provide horizontal ventilation ahead of an engine company advancing a hoseline on the fire from the interior. While waiting for time at the window prop, members also brushed up on forcible entry skills with our door simulator prop. Next week, members will combine skills of the past two weeks into real time simulated incidents. We thank our members for putting in some sweat equity to learn/refresh/enhance these critical skills.
