FLEET UPDATES
With the start of the new year came a significant change to one of the key pieces of our fleet. Our 1994 Marion/International Rescue was finally retired after 30 years of service and replaced by our 2024 Seagrave Marauder Rescue. The International served as one of the first specialized Rescues in the area with a brand-new complement of Amkus hydraulic tools, which allowed it to travel for entrapments and technical rescue assignments deep into both Allegheny and Butler Counties, and was the most utilized piece of apparatus second to the Engines.
While we're sad to see the International go, we are very excited to introduce our new Rescue, a 2024 Seagrave Marauder walk-around. This new jewel of the fleet seats 6 firefighters and is equipped for our standard extrication calls, as well as specialized rescue scenarios including water & ice rescue, high-angle rope rescue, confined space, and structural collapse, satisfying the Advanced-level Pennsylvania Voluntary Rescue Service Recognition. It will also supplement as a Truck Company, carrying a full ground ladder & hand tool complement needed for fire ground operations, as well as be BLS-certified for QRS and medically-driven rescue operations.
