Mid-month, EN1 overnight crew responded to an early-morning deck fire in Franklin Park's district. EN1 operated as first due, stretching a line and establishing their own water supply within 2 minutes of arrival.
Later in August, 228 units along with 1A mutual aid companies were dispatched for a working fire in the attached garage of a large residential structure. Engine Co. got an early knock and was able to contain the fire to an adjacent mudroom with no extension into the living quarters. The operation was upgraded to a 2A for additional manpower. One resident and one firefighter were transported in stable condition.
